Occasionally the simplest explanation is apparently not the one we should favour. Aslan’s razor says we should favour that which lies along a line of argumentation favourable to our own careers; and what’s good for the goose is obviously good for the gander. Take a gander then at the apotheosis of beastly reasoning which is the view that says one should always adopt the contra-contrarian perspective or, Helen’s Razer.
Most of these creative methods for approaching truth are about making one’s own opinion stand out from the herd and most, once heard, are found to be blunt. The best way to stand out is to add contrarian “think pieces” that do little more than raze what little is known to the ground, merely adding razor upon razor in an attempt to drive sales.
